India should win SA tour to make an impact: Sourav Ganguly

Indian cricket team's upcoming tour of South Africa is one of the highly anticipated series in recent times. The conditions in South Africa are traditionally conducive for fast bowling and the young Indian side have their task cut out. Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly says the bowlers have to rise to the occasion.

"I think the selectors have picked good team for the South African tour. India will have to bowl well to make an impact in this series and win it. We have Zaheer's experience, Shami's pace, Bhuvneshwar and Umesh are in form, it's a very good line up," said the former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly who was in Chennai for Apollo Munich Health Insurance 'Energy' launch.

Dada was all praise for the young pace bowler Mohammed Shami. "Shami has done exceptionally well, he has got pace. Pace doesn't come naturally and it's special to anyone," said Ganguly.Sourav Ganguly

Heckle & Jeckle! Shahid Afridi lashes out at Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Yousuf

A war of words has broken out between three big names of Pakistan cricket with veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi describing former stars, Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Akhtar as "heckle and jeckle".

The dispute broke out after Yousuf and Akhtar made critical comments about Afridi's
performance in Pakistan's recent ODI series against South Africa on recent television talk shows.

Yousuf and Akhtar were particularly critical about Afridi but when the former captain returned home on Monday from South Africa, he minced no words in lashing out at his two former teammates.

"I don't care about what they say. But the way some of these experts behaved and acted as if the team never lost in their time. To me comments from a pair of heckle and jeckle and Mr Bean don't make a difference," a visibly irritated Afridi told reporters at the airport.Afridi & Akhtar

Ind vs SA: Dhoni 'sweats it out' with red Kookaburras ahead of ODIs

It is still unclear whether Dhoni was thinking of the Test series after the ODI contest or was it an exercise to address his weakness against the moving quick ball.
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni today sprung a surprise as he underwent batting practice at the nets here with red Kookaburra balls just two days before the start of the three-match ODI series against South Africa which will use white balls.

Dhoni's surprise move to face red Kookaburra balls at the fag end of the Indian team's second practice session after arriving here left one wonder whether he was thinking of the Test series after the ODI contest or was it an exercise to address his weakness against the moving quick ball.

In the beginning of the net session, Dhoni faced the Indian quicks, spinners, net bowlers and throwdowns from fielding coach Trevor Penney. Just when everybody thought the practice session has ended, Dhoni padded up again. Behind his net at the Wanderers stood coach Duncan Fletcher and CM Dhananjay, the team's analyst, was asked to bring a camera.
